About Coco's Bloom House

Hi, I'm Coco 👋

My real name is Chloe, but most people know me as Coco. And honestly, when you're selling cookies made with cocoa powder and chocolate chips, it just fits.

I'm a one-woman team based in South Auckland, and Coco's Bloom House is everything I've poured my heart into. NYC-style loaded cookies and plants in one-of-a-kind thrifted pots. Two things I love, under one roof.

How it all started

It started with a rainstorm.

My brother Jackson was fundraising for his Year 11 trip to Japan and needed to raise a decent amount. I wanted to help, so I got in the kitchen, baked 50 cookies, and we booked a stall at our local market. Just as we were about to start... it poured. Market cancelled.

Instead of giving up, we jumped online, posted that we were fundraising for Jackson's Japan trip, and started selling from home. Within two hours, every single cookie was gone.

That moment changed everything for me. No matter what hurdle life throws at you, you can always find a way over it.

From there, I started planning. I built a website (that promptly lost all my progress), brainstormed names, taught myself social media, marketing, branding. All of it from scratch, with zero prior experience. Five months later, Coco's Bloom House was born.

Why cookies?

I've been baking my whole life. My mum taught me everything I know. But these cookies were something different.

I'd never had a cookie with a crunchy shell and a soft, gooey centre before. Oozing chocolate pockets, sweet buttercream on top, extra inclusions piled high. They were heavenly, and I just had to share them.

I spent weeks perfecting the recipe, trying everything from cinnamon choc chip to beetroot cookies straight from my garden. I was unstoppable. Eventually I landed on four signature flavours: double chocolate chip, triple chocolate chip, mocha white chip, and white choc macadamia. Sold as plain, chocolate drizzled, or fully loaded.

The biggest order I've filled? 100 Anzac cookies for our local theatre group during their Anzac play. That one meant a lot.

These cookies got my friends and family hooked from the very first bite. I want everyone to experience that, because it really is like nothing you've had before.

Why plants?

I've had a green thumb my whole life, but about three years ago I went all in. Indoor plants, outdoor garden beds, fruit, herbs, veggies, flowers, two greenhouses full of succulents and seedlings. I propagate my own plants, mix my own soil, build DIY trellises, and I've spent years learning exactly what each plant needs to thrive.

In five years of gardening, I've only lost one plant. (A fittonia. Cold winter. We don't talk about it.)

I keep my range beginner-friendly on purpose, because I want you to feel confident, not overwhelmed. A plant from Coco's Bloom House should make you feel like you've got this.

Why the second-hand pots?

Because I can't walk past a beautiful pot that everyone else has overlooked.

I source my pots from local thrift shops and junk stores. The ones that have been sitting on the shelf for months, passed by, forgotten. A decorative tumbler with a slight paint chip. A jar without a lid. A pot with a crack that just needs a little love.

I see potential where others see clutter.

To me, those pots are a bit like all of us. Sometimes sitting still for a while, feeling overlooked or replaced, waiting for the right conditions to become something beautiful again. I just give them another reason to be loved.

You're not just buying a plant. You're taking home something with a story.

What keeps me going

Knowing there's someone out there who wants something unique. Someone who doesn't want to buy from a big box store. Someone who has a vision for their plant shelf and needs help bringing it to life. Someone who wants to gift something that actually means something.

I'm proud of how far Coco's Bloom House has come, built from nothing, by me, on my own terms. I'm a one-woman team right now, but I can't wait to see how big this grows.

One day I want Coco's Bloom House to be the name that comes to mind when someone spots a beautiful thrifted pot and wonders... where did they get that?

Thanks for being here. It genuinely means the world. 🌸
